Impact Story - Leah

“At Palm House the other day one of my friends said “isn’t it incredible that Palm House is going to be a part of these kids’ testimonies?” Palm House is a place where we truly get to impact the lives of those we serve. As one of the kids program volunteers I get to see how much joy Palm House brings to these kids, and how their lives are forever changed by getting to learn about God in a safe place where they are free to have fun, be a kid, and ask questions without fear. It is such an incredible feeling to be a part of an organization that is doing good work and supporting the Abilene community that I love. 

Palm House has also had an incredible impact on me as a volunteer. I have truly found my community through Palm House and serving alongside some of my best friends has taught me how unique and special each person is. Palm House has helped me live out Jesus’ command to  love my neighbor (and to learn that everyone is my neighbor) and I feel extremely lucky to be a part of something that is going to have a lasting positive impact on the people of Abilene. I know that the kids’ lives have been eternally changed because of Palm house and I have been changed too.”
